Lenka Korecká-Korbelová, soloist, teacher, the first Czech pianist to be admitted to the Incontri col Maestro Piano Academy, former Petrof ambassador, graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and winner of the Antonín Dvořák and Bohuslav Martinů awards.
Lenka Korecká-Korbelová (1991) studied piano at the Primary Art School in Chrudim with Věra Nováková and then at the Conservatory in Teplice with Věra Vlková. She completed her studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague under Ivan Klánský and later successfully graduated as the first Czech pianist from the International Piano Academy Incontri col Maestro in Italy with Vovka Ashkenazy. She has given several solo recitals, concerts with orchestra in the Czech Republic and abroad and has been playing chamber music for a long time.
In 2023, she will perform as an accompanist at the 14th Summer clarinet masterclass in Domažlice alongside Ludmila Peterková, Vitor Fernandes and Marek Švejkar with whom she will record their debut album. In 2022, she performed with Marek Švejkar at the Cairo Opera House as part of the Czech EU Presidency. Two years earlier, she recorded an online piano recital with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, together with clarinetist Mark Švejkar, they were invited to Washington D.C. to perform for the 30th anniversary celebrations of the Velvet Revolution, where they had the honour of playing for politically important personalities. Previously, in 2018, she was invited as an instructor at the Piano masterclasses in Kadaň.
A year earlier, she performed alongside Alfonso Scarano and the North Bohemian Philharmonic Orchestra in the lesser-played concerto Antonín Dvořák. In the same year, she was invited to perform with Marek at the International Festival Prague Spring at the Rudolfinum in Prague and recorded her debut album in collaboration with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and the Kalkant Foundation. She successfully completed her studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 2016 with the Piano Concerto in B minor by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky together with the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra. A year earlier, she was invited as a soloist to the L. v. Beethoven Musical Gems Festival, where she performed two piano concertos by Ludwig van Beethoven during the evening.
As a pianist, in 2015 she performed in the Chinese film Somewhere Only We Know, filmed in Prague. Lenka performed at the 2013 Prague Proms International Music Festival, giving a piano recital at the Lichtenstein Palace in Prague, and shortly afterwards she performed at concerts as part of the Young Prague International Music Festival in Litomyšl. In 2012, she completed her studies at the Teplice Conservatory alongside Charles Olivier Munroe and the North Bohemian Philharmonic Orchestra with the famous Piano Concerto in C minor by Sergei Rachmaninov. She was a soloist with the Europera International Orchestra, with whom she gave concerts in Poland and Germany in 2011 and 2010. In 2009 she collaborated with the world-famous Czech piano manufacturer, Petrof.
She has won several international competitions – 2nd prize at the Prague Junior Note Competition (2006) + special prize for her performance of B. Martinů, 4th prize at the International Competition of Slavonic Music in Paris (France 2009), 2nd prize at the International Competition of B. Smetana (2010), honorable mention at the International Competition of B. Martinů (2011) and the main prize for the best performance of B. Martinů – Prize-winning composition Fantasy and Toccata by B. Martinů subsequently released on the promotional CD of the B. Martinů.
Her repertoire includes major piano concertos by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Dvořák, Rachmaninov and Gershwin.
